How we drape a set-mundu
The മുണ്ടും നേര്യതും (mundum neriyathum) is the oldest form of the saree, worn in Kerala in two pieces. This is the order we drape it in, and what we check at each step.

Blouse and underskirt
ബ്ലൗസും അടിപ്പാവാടയുംWe check the blouse fit and set the underskirt at your waist, because every fold after this hangs from it.

The mundu goes on
മുണ്ട്The lower piece is wrapped round with the kasavu edge level at the ankle, so the gold line is straight all the way round.

Even pleats
ഞൊറിWe fold the front into even pleats and pin them from inside, so they still look sharp after a day of sitting and standing.

The tuck
തിരുകൽThe pleats are tucked in firmly at the waist. You should be able to walk, kneel at the ceremony and dance without fixing anything.

The neriyathu
നേര്യത്The upper piece is tucked at the waist, taken across the body and over the left shoulder, with its border lined up for photos.

Jewellery and jasmine
ആഭരണവും മുല്ലപ്പൂവുംNecklaces, jhumkas and strings of മുല്ലപ്പൂ (mullappoo, jasmine) go on last, so nothing catches while we drape.

Before you book
How early should I book for my wedding?
As early as you know the date. Wedding season dates go first, and we can only take a few brides on the same morning.
Do you do a makeup trial?
Yes, a trial is part of the wedding day package, so you can see the look and change it before the day. Trial fee and timing
Can you come to my home or the venue?
Ask us with your location and time. Travel charges and area covered
Do I need to pay an advance?
An advance holds your date. Advance amount and how to pay
Can you drape a saree I already own?
Yes. Bring the saree, blouse and underskirt. Iron them at home, or we can iron them for you here. If the saree is new, tell us so we can allow time to pre-pleat it.
